The boundaries which divide life from death are at best shadowy and vague, who shall say where the one ends and where the other begins.” - Edgar Allan Poe Some people belong to the light; others to the darkness, we don’t get to choose t was easy for my sister Meredith to convince me to be her lookout because I loved her so much. Her face would glow with anticipation while we waited for Jack. She was crazy in love with Jack Donovan and I understood why. Jack put most people off with his understated good looks and quiet, self-assured demeanor. When he took off his motor cycle helmet his wavy brown hair was a glorious mess and when he peeled off his sunglasses his brown eyes flashed, and you knew he saw right through you. He would literally sweep my sister off her feet and they would steal away for a quick motorcycle ride; I watched them fly down the road in a spiraling haze of dust with Meredith’s spirit and raven- black hair surrounding her.  Jack always left his portable radio for me to listen to while they were gone. Music just seemed to sound so much better in the summer so I would close my eyes and imagine them slow dancing, locked in an embrace, it gave me goose bumps.  I could never have imagined thereasons why Meredith would die that summer and how awful it would be without her.  But I would see Meredith again and so would our mother Ellen and it would leave her literally breathless… ...yes, there is more to this story…
